About us

At NhakaBox, we are on a mission to unlock the treasures of Shona culture, one box at a time. We believe in preserving and passing on our cultural heritage even though we are living or raising children far away from home. But, it is hard to distill and understand these cultural values outside of the context of living within the Shona community. There are many resources and services to learn basic Shona, but nothing to learn or teach the context and culture in which that language is used. That's why we created NhakaBox - to provide practical tools and resources to make learning about and engaging with Shona culture an enjoyable and enriching experience for families all over the world.
